I graduated from University College London with degrees in Medicine (MBBS) and Medical Sciences with Neuroscience (BSc). I am currently working towards a degree in Medical Education (MSc) from the University of Warwick.

I was given the Gold award in the ‘Health Champion to watch’ category for MHP Group’s 30 To Watch: Politics Awards 2023. This was for my contributions to public health awareness through social media, involving major stakeholders such as 10 Downing Street, global health organisations and charities.

I am currently working in the emergency department of a busy university teaching hospital around London. I have done rotations in various medical and surgical specialties. My long term aim is to become a General Practitioner (family physician), and I’m keen to incorporate medical education and public health in my future career.

During the COVID pandemic, I realised how much harmful health-related misinformation there is on the internet. When I took some time out from clinical practice, I took the opportunity to start posting health education videos on social media. My aim was to democratise high quality health information for the global public - and I’ve never looked back!

My first videos to go viral were on TikTok - top tips for the 2022 summer heatwave. Later on, my Instagram account went from 1000 to 100,000 followers in a week, thanks to my trademark Doctor Azmain’s Medical Quizzes! My videos frequently get millions of views across my social media accounts with a global audience.

Yes I do! I’ve been interviewed live on Channel 5 News, and featured on ITV News. I was invited to 10 Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister for an exclusive health briefing. I’ve been invited to ITV and Netflix premieres. I’ve given seminars for YouTube Health and spoken as a featured creator for the YouTube Shorts community. I’ve given talks to large audiences including healthcare organisations and the pharmaceutical industry.

🎸 Music
I’m a keen musician, and had a band throughout university! I’m a singer-songwriter, and play piano, drums, and acoustic/electric/bass guitars. Trying to learn violin, cello & tenor sax. Watch my covers!

I love all kinds of puzzles, especially cryptic crosswords. I even made a whole YouTube series called Cryptic Crosswords Made Easy if you want to learn for yourself!
🧠 Memory
I know the London Underground map off by heart (yes, really). I can name all the countries of the world. And I can recite pi to 100 decimal places. I’m great at parties, can you tell?
